As I mentioned in my review of Tyler Hilton’s latest EP, I’d be seeing the man himself in concert. Well, that night has come and gone all too soon. Tyler Hilton opened up for The Spill Canvas at Slim’s in San Francisco on Thursday night, alongside fellow openers New Politics and AM Taxi.
Normally, I’d write a long and detailed review but since I only went to the show for him, I would feel bad about not being able to write about the other acts. My party and I left during the headliner because we all had to be home by a certain time (We’re not babies! We just had to go) and like I previously mentioned, we were all pretty much there for one person. Having to sit through the other two opening acts though, I thought that they were very energetic and entertaining. I was afraid both bands would hit me with their guitars or fall down on me, however. The lead singer of New Politics can MOVE!
All I can say is that Tyler is one heck of a guy – a true artist and performer who just lives for the stage and for music and he played a great set. He sure loves his audience too – he took pictures and had us all sing a line of his song “I Believe in You” and captured it for his upcoming music video for the song.
Again, apologies for not being able to review, but I captured Tyler’s entire set from the show on my Flip camera for you all. Credit to my sister’s YouTube channel – kidwithpaperplanes – for hosting a couple of these. Enjoy!
