Well, Ryan Reynolds’ PR people sure are having one hell of a field day today.
The 34-year-old Canadian actor has been named the ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ of 2010 by People magazine. Known for his roles in comedies such as Van Wilder, Just Friends, and The Proposal, Reynolds follows in the footsteps of Hollywood vets like Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt, and George Clooney in receiving the magazine’s annual coveted title.
He’s also well-known for being married to a beautiful fellow actor, Scarlett Johansson, who recently received a similar honor as ‘Babe of the Year’ for GQ‘s December issue.
“Now it’s going to be, ‘Sexiest man, take out the garbage.’ That does sound better,” Reynolds tells People on how his newly bestowed title may affect his home life. “The most difficult part is going to be organically working this title into a conversation with random strangers.”

In other good news for fans of Reynolds, the first HD full-length trailer for his latest and hotly-anticipated project, Green Lantern, premiered today. Reynolds portrays the title role in the adaptation of the DC Comics series, which will be released on June 17, 2011. Check it out:
I personally think the trailer looks really cheesy, but I’m a nerd for superhero movies and I’m still looking forward to this film. As for the Sexiest Man Alive title, I can deal. There are probably about six other men that I find sexier, but I’m a big fan and I’m very glad that People chose him.
Do you think Reynolds is the Sexiest Man Alive? And will you be watching the Green Lantern next summer?
