‘The Social Network’ continues riding wave, wins Best Picture and more from National Society of Film Critics

'The Social Network' gains another 'Like' from film critics, winning multiple awards chosen by the National Society of Film Critics.

The number of critics’ awards for The Social Network continues to gain, seemingly as much as the number of real-life Facebook users grows every day.

The drama about the founding of the Internet machine picked up three major awards at the National Society of Film Critics’ annual meeting in New York City yesterday: Best Picture, Best Director (David Fincher), and Best Actor (Jesse Eisenberg).

Other big honors went to Giovanna Mezzogiorno as Best Actress for the Italian film Vincere, Geoffrey Rush as Best Supporting Actor for The King’s Speech, and Olivia Williams as Best Supporting Actress for The Ghost Writer.

This honor adds one more  to the 20 Best Picture awards the film has received from critics’ groups. Count them.
