‘Black Swan’ and ‘Inception’ lead film nominations for the Motion Picture Sound Editors Golden Reel Awards

Black Swan and Inception lead the feature film category for the Motion Picture Sound Editors (MPSE) Golden Reel Awards with three nominations each, for Sound Effects and Foley, Dialogue and ADR, and Music in a Feature Film. The Social Network, True Grit, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, Tangled, Tron: Legacy follow behind with two nominations each.

Sound effects, foley, and dialogue and ADR are consolidated for categories to honor the best sound editing in animated features, documentaries, foreign-language films, and music in a musical feature film. The MPSE Golden Reel Awards also recognizes the best sound editing in television, computer entertainment, direct-to-video features, and special venue works.

The 2011 Golden Reel Awards will honor Brian Grazer with the MPSE Filmmaker Award and Walter Murch with the MPSE Career Achievement Award.

This year’s ceremony will take place on Feb. 20 at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel and Suites in Los Angeles.
